I recently spent a week at Hotel Alexander for a road cycling holiday.
This family run hotel has an excellent program with each day’s group ride alternatives thoughtfully crafted to be interested and safe and excellent coffee stop options with lunch back at the hotel or organised off site.
The quality of accommodation, food and care is excellent.
I would happily repeat the experience and recommend this to friends.

We had a wonderful time and everyone is raving about all the things we did. This trip was beyond category.
We could not have asked for more. Since this was my last trip as a leader, it was a great vacation to end my leadership. All the guides were great, and Sandro was so helpful to explain things. I have never been to Rome before and it was amazing. Having Roberto as our guide around town was great and so much fun!
The food was always delicious!!
There is so much more we are grateful for, and I speak for everyone in saying big thank you!.

We booked this hotel because it was a bike hotel and also because I am coeliac. It is an AIC certified hotel which means they know what they are doing with regards to safety from gluten. It was all so good we are already planning our return. It is a family run hotel so it was a fantastic personalised and friendly service.
I had a good amount of choices at meal times and the staff knew exactly what I could and couldn’t have, even the nibbles with drinks were gluten free for me and not just olives! There is a locked room to store your bike and very helpful information and routes you can do, when you are on a bicycle tariff your cycling clothes are taken and washed daily if you are back before 3pm, bananas and energy powder for drinks is also provided.
We can’t wait to return.

Love, love, love! Jag har besökt Alexander Hotel i maj 2019 och i maj 2022 tillsammans med ett större sällskap landsvägscyklister. Hotellet är fantastiskt och personalen är underbar, maten är otroligt god och servicen är på topp!
Guider och cykelturer är toppen! Det råder en otroligt härlig och familjär stämning på hotellet.

Spent 10 nights here for an easy cycle holiday with ebikes. The hotel staff were a joy to interact with and nothing was any trouble to them.
The cleanliness and standard of food and drinks in hotel is to the most high standard and served with a smile.
We had the most quiet and relaxing room – no noise from fellow travellers either and the bed was so comfy.
The pool was simply a sun trap, perfectly positioned and again super clean.
I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough – we aim to return soon.

First time here at a bike-week and it was a great experience. Fantastic staff, so helpfull and nice in every way.
Nice rooms, spotless. Breakfast/Lunch/Dinne, all you can eat and some more ;).
My stay was “all inclusive bike week” and it was a 100% hit.
I will absolutely come back and can easily recoment it.

This is a great hotel in all regards. This is my third visit here, mainly for cycling but also for the food, the beautiful area, and definitely for superior service.
People ask “why do you go to that same hotel and location when are many other places in the world to visit?” A better question is “Why wouldn’t I???” Each time the riding is satisfyingly the same yet different to keep it interesting. This last visit Roberto (hotel owner) setup a few “mini trips”, where we rode to another area/town, stayed a few nights, did day rides around the area and then rode back to Hotel Alexander. The hotel transported belonging and provided sag. We had multiple special lunches, one that stands out is homemade cannelloni and truffle pasta – so yummy! The cycling guides are excellent and know the routes AND history so each ride is two-fer.
And I can’t say enough about how hard everyone works to make you happy. For example, the day it rained the hotel organized a cooking lesson for us. And when I needed something from Amazon, they helped me with IT Amazon for prime delivery. Too many examples to list…
This is a family hotel that exceeds in all regards. Great for cyclists and/or anyone that loves good food, Italy and wants an incredible vacation.

Second very comfortable stay at the Alexander Hotel.
The cordiality of Camilla and her parents and their fine staff is infectious.
They put together a varied cycling program for our California group based on their desire to show us different places in the area and not just where we had been before and it was grand!
We were joined by other cyclists from other countries who were friendly, helpful, and fine riders.
Our guides ,Sandro,Fabrizeeo,Fabio,Flavia, & Francesco were just great and a consistent good source of information about their wonderful country ..
We rented very good road bikes and did not miss the hassle and worry of bringing our own.
They knocked themselves out helping me cope with a restricted diet and made sure that I had wonderful meals with a wide variety of regional specialties and fine wines.
I can not wait to return !

After a couple of years, we came back to the Hotel Alexander and felt comfortable at home right upon our arrival. The cordiality of the owner family and all members of staff created a pleasant atmosphere. The service was excellent again. The biggest challenge was the marvellous cuisine which was much too good to restrain from eating. Each morning at 9 o’clock, our bike guides Fabrizio and Sandro took us along for a bike ride through the beautiful countryside. In our multi-lingual team we had a lot of pain to climb all those hills, but much more fun to rush them down. I’ll be back to Gabicce as quick as possible.

I’ve cycled several times in Europe and packed up every 2-3 days to move on so staying at the Alexander was a real treat. This family owned hotel is immaculate, the staff knows you by name, the meals offered local fresh fruits, veggies, pasta, fish…and you never went away hungry. Dependent upon your cycling experience, riders can select from 3-4 rides each day–vineyards, rolling hills, castles, the Adriatic Sea and always time for a stop at a local cafe. A visit to a local family winery was arranged for one afternoon- very informative tour of the vineyards and then we all sat at a long table to taste the wine and olive oil; we were also entertained by Elvis who joined us from the hotel. This was an all inclusive trip–accommodations, 3 meals/day, bike, guides, laundered our cycling clothing on a daily basis, visit to the winery. Fun trip and a staff who really cares about showing you a good time!

The Alexander Hotel Family provided a bike holiday experience which surpassed all expectations! Right from the warm welcome on arrival we felt totally at home; our room was very comfortable – housekeeping services were very efficient (loved the daily laundry for cycling gear).
Meals were all excellent as was service, thank you Paolo, with flexible hours for lunch to ensure we were well fed after long rides. Camilla at the front desk and elsewhere, unlimited energy, anticipating our every need. And Roberto, overseeing the whole operation with a steady hand and a friendly greeting.
A refreshing dip in the pool and some lounging on the deck was standard daily procedure following our rides – great.
Elvis made a great first impression by singing Gordon Lightfoot to welcome us Canadians on our first day and followed on later evenings with a selection of his vast repertoire of almost any crooner we could name. He did a fine job driving/guiding us to the brilliant wine/olive oil tasting.
Sandro was amazing in making sure that all guests had the best possible biking experience: flexible with choice of bikes, planning rides to best match the fitness of different groups and on a couple of occasions adding Fabio to allow the group to divide to allow for faster riders. Job Done!
I would also like to thank Eleonora for providing helpful answers to my many emails as the trip was being planned. She provided a great introduction to the Alexander.
During our stay it became clear that you of the Alexander family planned for and provided the best possible guest experience as your mission! We loved our Alexander experience.

Lovely staff, owner and his family on site every day, cycling guides seem to be like part of the family. Such a treat to be treated so well as a solo traveler who did very little planning before arriving to an unknown situation.
I would highly recommend this to any and all level of cyclists who enjoy having a home base to avoid having to change hotels every day of a cycling trip, but still have lots of variety of cycling opportunities.

This is a great family hotel. The staff is friendly and attentive, the room spacious and clean. The beach is within 5 min walking distance.
Food was fantastic: lots of seafood, fresh buffet for lunch and dinner and good choice at breakfast. Nice bar for pre/after dinner.
I came for a week of cycling, the package included a very well maintained Bianchi bike and guided tours with a dedicated and motivated tour guide. Also included: washing service for my cycling gear, perfect! Massage can be booked as well which was very good.
All in all, I would like to recommend this place, thank you very much to Cynthia, Camilla, Elvis, Fabrizio … you made me feel welcome, I’ll be back!!

När du som gäst anländer till anläggningen blir du välkomnad som en kung och omhändertagen på allra bästa sätt, rummen är sedan utmärkta med bra sängkomfort, allt kring maten är på topp, från frukosten på morgonen (också flexibelt vad gäller tiden) luncher som verkligen heter duga för att inte tala om supéerna varje kväll och där gästernas olika vinpreferenser alltid kan matchas. Sammanfattningsvis en pärla längs Adriatiska kusten som verkligen kan rekommenderas.

På Hotel Alexander bor man nära havet och har utsikt till det från ett flertal rum. Fint poolområde med intilliggande bar/restaurang med glad och god personal.

I hotellets restaurang (den riktiga) praktiserar man det italienska köket fullt ut. Väldigt gott och ett rikt utbud som serveras av en snabb och uppmärksam personal, allt från il Gerente till kypare.
Rummen är rena och fina med bra garderober och ett rymligt duschrum.
Vi cyklade semiprofessionellt under två dagar under ledning av en grym guide.
Att vi fick se adriatiska havet och fantastiska vyer från ovan under dessa två dagar ackompanjerade av muskelvärk och ständig häftig andning kan ni skriva upp!!!

I have been visiting hotel Alexander since 8 years approximatelly 2 weeks in summer. Me and my family always feel comfortable there. Hotel staff is always friendly. Cuisine is extremally delicious. Hotel is bikers friendly and there is several tracks around. You can also review my previous comments about the hotel on Tripadvisor. I hope to be back there next year….

It was my 2nd stay at Hotel Alexander, again mainly to have a cycling vacation. The area is great for splendid cycling trips, with beautiful cities as Urbino or San Marino less than 40 km away. Although you stay at the Adriatic coast you can go for trips with lots of climbing. Returning to the hotel you can enjoy a fantastic meal adapted to the needs of cyclists. Add the kindness of the staff and you can’t wish for more.

In the best European tradition of personal service, luxurious amenities, and gourmet cuisine.
This family and the impeccable staff greeted us as valued guests from the moment we arrived. While I struggled (joyfully!) up the hills of Le Marche on the provided Bianchi road bicycle my wife enjoyed the comforts of the hotel and the beach. Meals were creatively prepared from the local bounty of farm and sea. High quality local wine.
Our waiter, Luca, quickly established our preferences and every meal was delightful. We met fascinating guests from other countries. The opportunity to visit and experience historic sites is extensive.
Our stay was far too short.
We look forward to bringing our grandchildren with us on our next visit.

På detta hotell är allt rent och fräscht. Maten gudomligt god!! Man blir omtänksamt ompysslad på alla sätt. Och vilken personal, de gör allt för din trivsel. Jag har varit “non cyklist” och maken har cyklat med hotellets cykelguider. Det finns inte ett bättre ställe om du vill åka på en aktiv semester. Du kan cykla racer eller mountainbike, de har el-cyklar också. Om du är där för att cykla, som maken, kan du hyra cykel och då får du skicka ner dina mått så du får rätt storlek på din hyrcykel. Till racer och mountainbike ska du ta med dina egna pedaler och cykelskor + hjälm så klart. Varje dag efter cykelturen stoppar du dina svettiga cykelkläder i en tvättpåse och morgonen efter får du rena nytvättade cykelkläder tillbaka. Det är service som ingår i paketet ! Om man som jag inte cyklar kan man bada promenera och bara njuta av tillvaron och de vackra omgivningarna. Och så var det maten: frukost , lunch och middag. Det finns bara inte ord att beskriva så mycket gott ! De allra flesta gästerna har gått upp i vikt även om det cyklat i den allra tuffaste gruppen. Det finns inget att bli besviken på! Gäster från hela europa , cykelklubbar , par, barnfamiljer och alla umgås och trivs.

We stayed in the hotel for a week for cycling in Rimini area. This was our best vacation in Italy And it was not our first one. Roberto ,Cinzia and Camilla made us fill like at home.their hospitality was excellent. The staff made everything to make our staying wonderful. We enjoyed the food in the hotel so much we didn’t go to any restaurant. We highly recommend the hotel and sure will come again! Elisha cohen&tohar

Roberto, Cinzia and Camilla: what a wonderful hotel and how good are you at making sure everything was just perfect. My travelling companion needed gluten free meals and your staff were simply outstanding in accommodations her needs. The friendly atmosphere was as good as I’ve ever experienced in a hotel and the cycling each morning was superb. And fancy having Tour de France mountain climb winner, Claudio Chiapucci as one of our cycling guides! He along with Chris and Georgio were great to be with and I learnt so much from them. Our rooms were spotless and comfortable, all meals were brilliant, the pool area was a great place to relax after a hard ride and the staff were fantastic. Thank you for just the best holiday.

What can I say about this hotel? It affords you a holiday not to be missed. I love everything about it. The rooms are spotless and comfortable. The food is to die for and the service from the very friendly staff is warm; nothing is a problem. Roberto and his family are always around and are constantly asking if all is well. There is a lovely pool area and entertainment if you should wish. All meals are beautifully served by spotlessly dressed staff and the food is always fresh and inviting.
I have to tell you that I am the fussiest person when it comes to eating out and accommodation. I drive my husband crazy as I am rarely happy so he is over the moon that he has found me the perfect spot for our holidays.
I just can’t wait to book up for next year. It will definitely be an annual trip for me.

We were on holiday here in June 2015 for the third time and once again the holiday was fantastic due to Roberto and family and the wonderful team he has around him. The hotel is immaculate in every detail. Spotlessly clean, amazing service, beautiful rooms (with a view), and a wonderful restaurant serving delicious food. Nothing is a problem for the staff and they make you most welcome. We have recommended this hotel to others and nobody has been disappointed. The hotel is in a quiet part of Gabicce and overlooks the sea. The hotel grounds and pool are in first class condition and you also get your own parking place included in the price of your holiday. We are definitely booking again for next year as you cannot get too much of a good thing!!!

We are a couple with two friends (seniors) and we stayed 8 nights H/b in June. We have been to Gabicce many times but this was our first experience of the Hotel Alexander. We were very pleased with every aspect of or holiday .What impressed us most was the very warm welcome from the owners, the quality of the food and the relaxed atmosphere. We can certainly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for friendliness and good service from all the staff. We wish to say thank you to the owners and we hope to return for our next Italian holiday.

Just spent a lovely time in Gabicce Mare,Italy (on the Adriatic). If you’re looking for a beach vacation, this place was incredible. They even loaned us their golf cart so we could drive our daughter around (she’s in a walking boot for an injured ankle). Truly superb staff, amazing food & they made everyone feel like family! Great location with lovely views.
